[Index as: (Holt case), advertisement, The New-Hampshire Gazette (Portsmouth, N.H.), May 9, 1760]

Whereas Bulah, my Wife, is Eloped from me William Holt of Linesbourough, in the Province of New Hampshire, her lawful Husband, and refuses to live with me as an obedient Wife ought to, and has run into Debt; This is therefore to FORBID any Person trusting her on my Account, for that I will not pay any Debts she shall contract from the above Date. Notwithstanding, if she will return with her Child, to me, they shall be as well provided for as in Power, and treated with all the Love and Tenderness she can reasonably expect; though I am sorry I am obliged to take this Method with her to induce her to that Obedience which the Marriage Covenant obliges her to.

As witness my Hand, William Holt.
